Surgical Treatment of Pancreatic Pseudocyst(s)

Abstract
This is a clinical analysis of 46 cases of pancreatic pseudocyst from january 1966 till year end of '1991 at Presbyterian Medical Center, Chonju, Korea.
By definition pancreatic paseudocysts do not have an epithelial lining'-but filled up with pancreatic secretions which escaped from disruption or obstruction of pancreatic duct system.
@ES Our experience resulted as follows:
@EN 1) Male preponderance in sex distribution as 27 versus 19 among them.
2) Main etiologic factors be listed as pancreatitis, trauma, postoperative pancreatitis, tumors, and idiopathic.
3) Common clinical manifestations are abdominal pain(84.8%), abdominal mass(56.5%), anorexia and vomiting(47.8%) and less common series be listed abdominal distension, fever and chill, dyspepsia, and back-pain.
4) Major diagnostic tolls are abdominal CT, Ultrasound but physicians group urged for preoperative ERCP for evaluation of pancreatic duct anomalies.
5) Occurring site was frequent in body and tail and followed head portion as least frequency.
6) 41 cases handled as surgical drainage procedure and 5 cases only got surgical resection of pancreas pseuodocyst. In a surgical drainage group, 36 patients received internal drainage which voled for Roux-en-Y cystojejunostomy more than half
group.
7) Postoperative complications encounterred in 9 cases and as strange, 1 cases of postoperative mortality in a mortality in patient of Roux-en-Y cysto-jejunostomy.
